Wortel & Van Waard 

Voor veel eilanders en vaste bezoekers roept de naam KNIJN direct warme herinneringen op. Jarenlang vormden zij in het eerste weekend van september een vaste muzikale traditie in het Boothuis op Schiermonnikoog. Hun optreden viel steevast toevallig samen met het teckelweekend, een eilanddetail dat zelfs een eigen lied opleverde. Nu keert Gerard Wortel, voormalig KNIJN-lid, terug naar vertrouwde grond. Samen met cellist Bas van Waard staat hij in Het Oude Boothuis voor een muzikale voorstelling vol taal en temperament.

Humor, diepgang en muzikaal spel

Wortel is theatermaker, bard en taalknutselaar. Met zijn Nederlandstalige liedjes en voordrachten, begeleid op gitaar, neemt hij je mee van scherts naar ontroering. In één adem bezingt hij zijn angst in de supermarkt, ergert hij zich aan de e-biker en verklaart hij zijn liefde aan de teckel.

Cellist Bas van Waard speelt zonder partituur en geeft de voorstelling extra kleur en spanning. Samen zorgen zij voor een optreden met inhoud: scherp, beeldend, soms absurd en vaak ontroerend. Reken op een middag vol lachen, meezingen en aandachtig luisteren.
